One really cool thing about living where we do is that we get to see all sorts of ships from our swanky beach apartment. Mostly they are container ships but once in a while we’ll see cruise ships and military vessels, such as the one pictured here.
The best place to see ships in the Caloundra area is pretty much anywhere there is water. While looking for ships, keep an eye out for whales, they migrate through here and you can see them right now if you are lucky. Good binoculars help but you can often see whales with the naked eye right from shore.
There are apps that will tell you what ship is where so that is kind of cool if you are interested in knowing more about them. There used to be some free ones that were pretty good, I’m not sure if they still exist.
